I offer small group classes and private lessons in YogaPilates and Tango. Each class is individualized based on the participant's level, resources and learning requirements.

Through personalized content and detailed feedback, I support participants in their learning process. I place special emphasis on strengthening body awareness, teaching correct body alignment and developing a solid basic technique. All this not only makes it easier to learn complex figures and tango elements, but most importantly opens the doors to improvised dance to music.

My teaching style

My first encounter with tango was in 2004, when I attended a concert in Australia that was followed by an introductory course. After 1½ years of intensive training in Sydney I travelled to Buenos Aires to study tango more in depth. During the following 2½ years, I lived between Buenos Aires and Basel and dedicated myself to bodywork and tango.

My inspiration comes from numerous stays in Buenos Aires, from the exchange and collaboration with well-known and unknown tango dancers, as well as from attending workshops and individual lessons with guest teachers.

Tango for me is the manifestation of the music through the physical communication of the tango couple. It is important to me to preserve the essence of tango as well as personal expression.

Lifelong learning and discovery is essential for me. Various body techniques and movement methods, as well as their teachers, have influenced me and contribute to enrich my teaching.

  • "The tango course was superbly organised and took place in a small group in a cosy vaulted room. This created a warm atmosphere in which we all felt comfortable. Among other things, I learnt the importance of correct body posture. This has not only helped my dancing style, but also my back. Since I've been dancing tango, I no longer have any pain! I can recommend this course to anyone who wants to try something new and do something good for the body and the soul. Tango is a wonderful experience not to be missed!"

  • "With her broad dance and movement experience, Stefania provides many exciting inputs for aspiring and experienced tango dancers. With great sensitivity and keen perception she responds individually to each participant. She also creatively describes movement sequences using inner images and mindfulness of one's own body. Stefania moves groups with her intuitive and cheerful nature and puts her heart and soul into teaching tango. She gives participants a great insight into the very lively, fine elaboration of steps, arouses curiosity in the training of one's own body awareness and in music and dance. She inspires with her warmth and openness and creates a pleasant group dynamic. This makes learning and the joy of dancing a lively experience."

  • "The atmosphere in the tango course is very trusting, appreciative, focused and challenging, but also always fun, simply put: good! I like the "going into depth" elements. For me, our dance has gained more quality and awareness. It's the little things that make the difference for me - the many little 'aha' moments! I now get much more body sensation, which is more nuanced–not directly visible, but perceptible."

  • "Dear Stefania, finding you was a gift for me. Through you, I discovered my body and my womanhood in a whole new way. My feet, my belly and my strength. And the music inside me. So much music! I am so grateful for your guidance. I would never have found all of this on my own."
